This is a wonderful idea and I'd love to jump on the phone and talk about how to ensure its success and viability. You have Dyn Inc.'s full support for this project as the industry desperately needs an unbiased 3rd party review site. We could tell you all day how great we are and how we compare to our competition, but I'd much rather see a site like this thrive and do the job for us. DNS is becoming far more mainstream and we're excited to play our part in the humanization of this 25-year-old technology. Being an end-to-end DNS provider, we work diligently everyday to raise the importance of the technology we deliver. We operate two networks, one on DynDNS.com (unicast), for home and small business users, and the other the Dynect Platform (anycast) for corporations and enterprises. On DynDNS.com we have nearly four million active users and on the Dynect Platform we have approximately 400 and counting. Both customer bases are growing extremely fast. Here is an overview of our pricing model from our Website, but I will add that we work hard to scope accurately and have customers in the appropriate packages. We also obsess over account management and engage customers when it is time to upgrade to a new tier. http://dyn.com/dynectpricing When it comes to the tiers (95% Burstable billing model on the Dynect Platform): Quote One: Use DynDNS.com Unicast network ($30/yr) (for this low of traffic, it's rare for a customer to need Anycast) Quote Two: Two choices: DynDNS.com Custom DNS allows up to 2,600,000 Queries Per Month, for 10 Zones it would be approx. $250/yr; Entry Level Dynect Platform $195/mo (actually allows up to 2,500,000 queries per month)(nice buffer for growth) Quote Three: $295/mo (actually allows 25,000,000 queries per month)(nice buffer for growth) We have add-on products billed per hostname like Active Failover ($100/hostname), Round Robin Load Balancing ($100/hostname), Dynect Traffic Management (GSLB) ($250/mo), and CDN Manager ($500/mo) all priced per hostname per month. We give volume discounts based on the number of advanced products given. Our strengths on the Dynect Platform are in the Web 2.0, E-Commerce, SaaS and Ad/Media space. This is where most of our customers on the Dynect Platform come from and their traffic is much higher than the price points you had outlined. We've redefined the term "enterprise" as we no longer look at employee count or revenue in the door; we measure primarily on DNS traffic and advanced features needed. We are an engineering focused company running an Infrastructure-as-a-Service, but our corporate disposition is as a Web 2.0 company ourselves. We understand our customers, because we are exactly like our customers. We are extremely accessible, so please feel free to post some of our individual team members email addresses, and have your visitors contact our team to learn more about us: http://dyn.com/dynectsales. We're each on Twitter too (our customer), so follow us and @DynInc there. Some of us here have worked for DNS and Hosting companies in the past and we have a good wealth of experience in the industry. But this is not based on our experiences, it will be based on facts that we can find on services. But rest assured all of our comparisons will be accurate and fair. Even the replies we receive from vendors will be posted online. We would usually post your full first response online but your accusing another DNS competitor of an unfair site might not be something you want shown and we understand that we are playing proper. Overall, the site will be fair, unbiased, and accurate. In the future we will be opening other sites as well that will compare VPS, shared hosting, etc.. But overall right now we feel that the DNS market is a crucial enough market that users need help identifying the facts from fiction. And there is a lot of fiction. Please note, this is not a review site where you can have your users post reviews. We are not interested in how good your happy customers are. We are comparing facts, numbers, statistics. All facts will be referenced and cross-checked. Let me know if I can be of anymore assistance. Cheers, Beverly
